Stepping into the realm of Art provided a great deal of risk because it makes me vulnerable. It has also provided the greatest reward because it allowed me to be vulnerable. As I step further and further out of my comfort zone exploring different mediums and the creative process I learn more and more about who I really am. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, I moved to Corpus Christi to teach in the Life Sciences Department at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi. Having spent most of my early life studying biology, I have discovered her artistic voice in ceramics and printmaking. My deep-rooted love for nature influences and inspires the whimsical, abstract creatures I make. I invite viewers to explore hidden narratives in my work, attracting them with innovative surfaces that merge clay and textiles while engaging the senses.
